Donors are my passion! There are thousands of amazing organizations with vibrant and promising missions. What they need are more donors to provide the critical support required to fund programs and operations. When I read The Go Giver I recognized that my professional goal is not to help one organization but to support many by helping them to significantly grow their donor base.

I have been fundraising for twenty years, most recently for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro as Director of Development & Major Gifts. I gained most of my major gift experience at UNCG where I spent ten years in a variety of positions. My favorite role was as Campaign Director for the $100 million Students First Campaign. When the opportunity to join the Capital Development Services team presented itself I jumped in with both feet.

One of my favorite gifts was made to the UNCG School of Music by Dr. William B. Herring. The Elizabeth Herring Garden is a regular reminder to me of the impact a donor's vision and desire can have on an institution. The garden began a movement to use private support to transform the landscape of the campus. In the years that followed the installation of the garden, the Class of 1953 funded the remarkable statue of Minerva which is the inspiration for the University logo. Later, Randall Kaplan, UNCG Trustee, established the Kaplan Commons which provides a warm welcome to campus visitors. Now, when I walk the UNCG campus I can't help but think of all the donors that have had a permanent impact on this important institution.

I studied at UNCG and have a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and Masters of Public Affairs. Most recently my involvement in the community is focused on K-12 education. I am a member of the Guilford Education Alliance and Guilford Enrichment Fund boards of directors, and I served on the Lindley Elementary School PTA. I graduated from the Guilford Education Alliance, Leadership Academy in 2007 and Leadership Greensboro in 2009.

I live in Greensboro with my husband, Bill, and two sons, Wil and Dennis. We are very involved in the Lindley Park Neighborhood Association, and we own Pepper Moon Catering and Spring Garden Bakery.
