Pitt Community College Hosts Groundbreaking in Greenville NC
Pitt Community College (PCC) engaged CapDev for campaign planning, and now is breaking ground for its latest expansion.
Groundbreaking ceremonies were held July 29th at the future site of the Eddie and Jo Allison Smith Center for Student Advancement. The new 34,000 square foot center will provide space for large classes and various student activities, as well as a number of student recognition events, including pinning ceremonies and the annual academic excellence awards program.
The PCC Foundation announced a $10 million capital campaign in 2017 that would raise funds for the construction of phase one of the Smith Center. The Smith family secured naming rights for the student advancement center with a $2 million contribution.
PCC Vice President of Institutional Advancement Susan Nobles says, "It is just fabulous to have this space to help our students because our students come to college with a lot of special needs. We are especially pleased to be able to help our Veterans and have something for our VISIONS students. It is outstanding."
CapDev Senior Counsel, Kevin Jacques, worked closely with Susan Nobles, guiding the campaign, who he said was smart, hard-working, and a true pleasure to work with. Nobles has announced her upcoming retirement, and the campaign is one of her many accomplishments.
