I frequently define myself as a "runner" - sprinter, jogger, and marathoner. I discovered my love for running in high school and over the years it has weaved its way into the fabric of who I am. My passion for nonprofits evolved in much the same way. It began when I held my first position at Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, NH as Director of Alumni. Being one that thrives on relationship building, networking and good communication I had found my niche! That led to 20 years of professional and voluntary experience in the nonprofit sector, and a new thread in the fabric of who I am.
Prior to joining the CapDev team as Manager of Search/Client Services I served as Director of Development at Calvary Baptist Day School. In addition, I have contributed my energy to numerous nonprofit boards including Young Life, Cornerstone Christian Academy, Triad Youth Lacrosse Association, and Winston Salem Lacrosse. Making a good match in a Search makes my day, and I also serve occasionally as Senior Search Counsel, advancing CapDev's clients efforts by finding ideal candidate pools.
I am a native of North Carolina. However, after earning a degree in Psychology and Accounting at Gordon College, in Massachusetts, I remained in the Northeast. In 2004, I returned to North Carolina after surviving 18 long, New England winters. My favorite things include being married to my husband, Rick, cheering on our four sons in their many endeavors, being an active member of Christ Church Anglican in Winston Salem, running with my dog, traveling and reading.
