I have long valued good storytelling, especially those stories where compassion, inspiration, and generosity take root. I first learned from my parents that a great story is best heard with your heart. For me, these words still ring true.
In 2019 I joined the CapDev team to craft cases for support, as many nonprofit clients begin charting the course for meeting their philanthropic goals. I am afforded the great privilege of listening to valued stakeholders share the stories that inspire them most and greatly impact the communities they serve. Creating an engaging narrative that inspires kindness and generosity in others is a challenge I gladly accept.
Since graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, my professional career has led to nonprofit experience in public health, senior care, and education; yet, my twenty years of service to the Moravian Church showed me how well-planned philanthropy and service can radically change lives. I have carried these experiences with me to Capital Development Services where I offer clients a heart for building relationships and the skills for delivering compelling cases for support.
Personally, I also appreciate any time spent on our family farm in King, NC that I share with my husband, seven children, and quite a menagerie of animals. I even created a blog several years ago to write about our homesteading escapades, the relationships that have shaped me, and my inspirations for giving back to the community that has loved me well.
I know that we all have words within us that can positively impact the world we live in. How fortunate am I to help in that discovery!
