One Campaign Builds on Another to Deliver Enthusiasm and Success

When CapDev first partnered with Averett University it was a very different place than it is now.

Over the course of several years and a few engagements, we have worked closely with the university’s leadership – both staff and board levels – to develop a its first significant campaign – the Big Dreams & Bold Futures campaign; to build a solid advancement team; and most recently to embark on a new, transformational campaign.

Averett University was initially founded in 1859 as a Baptist women’s college, and has experienced tremendous change over the last 150 years.

Early in our engagement, a new president was announced. Dr. Tiffany Franks said this of our work at that time: “We greatly appreciate the wise counsel, cheerleading, and guidance that Capital Development provided throughout the capital campaign process. They are uniquely experienced to lead and support those charged with positive outcomes while being sensitive to the qualities that make your institution unique throughout the process.”

Building on the success of the Big Dreams & Bold Futures campaign, Averett University entered its next phase of growth and sustainability and undertook the new challenge of a multi-year comprehensive campaign in the $50 million range.

The backbone of the Averett Ascending campaign is transformational support aligning with the mission and vision of the Averett 2025, Bigger Dreams, Bolder Futures Strategic Plan, including new degree programs. New partnerships are driving its success. Through this campaign, Averett is cultivating new generations of leaders and donors, further evolving this still growing university.
