Meredith College

CapDev was engaged in 2012 to conduct a feasibility study for an anticipated major campaign for Meredith College. At the time, the school had just welcomed a new president, Jo Allen, and wanted to build a culture of philanthropy, but didn’t know where to begin.

Since the completion of a successful study, including 60 confidential interviews, Meredith College entered into a dedicated campaign planning process with CapDev Senior Counsel, Michelle Schneider.

Last year, Meredith College proudly reported its highest fundraising totals in the college’s history, having raised over $18 million in 2013-14, attributable to its work in the “Beyond Strong” campaign.

Focusing their attention on why supporters give, Meredith College President, Jo Allen said of the campaign, “It is so touching to hear donors’ reasons for giving to Meredith.” Click here to read more of her remarks on Meredith’s well-produced campaign website.

Honorary Campaign Chairs, Judy Woodruff and O. Temple Sloan, Jr. have lent their expertise and connections, as Campaign Co-Chairs, Jo Cooper and Ann Lowery Shivar, have taken the helm of the campaign leadership as it drives toward completion planned for Meredith’s 125th anniversary in 2016.

The campaign is still underway with exciting news on goals and recent gifts yet to be announced. CapDev is happy to be a part of the college’s success story and glad to see Meredith College “Going Strong,” as they say!
