Listening First: Laying the Groundwork for TNC South Carolina’s Philanthropic Vision

South Carolinians are passionate about land conservation. Protecting the state’s lands, waters, and wildlife is why The Nature Conservancy in South Carolina was established over 50 years ago.

Having since protected more than 414,000 acres of the state’s natural lands and waters from the mountains to the coast, The Nature Conservancy (TNC) has partnered with CapDev to develop South Carolina’s role in The Nature Conservancy’s global campaign.

The visioning process included talking with leaders across the state in a planning study. The outcome of these important conversations helped frame the case for support for TNC – South Carolina. Finding common language to express shared values around land conservation and protection is helping the chapter determine what is most important to South Carolinians, and what will matter to them when they consider their philanthropic support.

Listening to supporters is what consultants do best as we provide critical feedback and recommendations to clients like TNC – South Carolina, helping set the foundation for a successful campaign.
