New VC Hire Announced at NC A&T State University

Capital Development Services is pleased to announce North Carolina A&T State University, Harold L. Martin, Sr.‘s appointment of Barbara Miller as vice chancellor for university advancement.

Miller comes from Auburn University where she served as assistant vice president for development, raising over $600 million for the capital campaign, exceeding its $500 million goal. Prior to working at Auburn, Miller was an associate director of gift planning at The College of William and Mary, where she raised more than $6 million and increased Legacy membership by 110 percent. Before that, she served as director of corporate and foundation relations/supervisor of sustained giving and endowments for Norfolk State University, where she co-wrote proposals to raise over $3.2 million. Miller’s career history also includes serving as director of development for Georgia State University and assistant director of capital gifts for the University of Alabama

“Barbara Miller is a successful fundraiser and professional leader who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the advancement field.  She has the vision, expertise and creativity to strengthen overall fund raising and friend raising for the university,” said Chancellor Martin.
