Candidate Sourcing

Candidate Sourcing is an alternative to CapDev’s Comprehensive Executive Search that leverages CapDev’s broad network to surface candidates. We take on the administrative tasks and initial phases of qualifying applicants, allowing Search Committees deeper engagement in making finalist selections without the time-intensive burden of sourcing and screening work. As a modified search option, Sourcing is a hiring solution that provides cost savings over traditional search models and can also be utilized to fill multiple openings at one time at reduced rates. Here’s how Candidate Sourcing works:

  • Market Strategy: We help you refine your position announcement and job description language
  • Sourcing: We place customized position postings in the marketplace and deliver customized mass emails to defined target market
  • Screening: We receive, process and review all resumes. We then conduct initial video screening of qualified candidates.
  • Candidate Dashboard Delivery: We deliver a dashboard packet of all qualified candidates with resumes
  • Add-On Services: We offer additional services to enhance Candidate Sourcing

After the Candidate Dashboard Delivery, you take it from there to conduct interviews and make your hire.

Add-On Services for Candidate Sourcing

No two searches are alike. For this reason, we provide a customized approach to your needs. The following optional services are available to enhance the Candidate Sourcing process. Onboarding is available for both our Comprehensive Executive Search and Candidate Sourcing services.

To expand the timeline for building the applicant pool, clients may extend candidate sourcing services for an additional 4 weeks.

Salary benchmarking and developing the job description are both an art and a science. CapDev uses its resources and industry knowledge to craft a position description that accurately captures the organization’s values and culture and the role’s competencies and responsibilities while attracting a quality pool of applicants by advising on competitive salary ranges in their specific market

The IDEAL (Inclusive, Diverse, Equitable, Accessible, Leadership) Candidate Survey is a customized online survey designed to uncover valuable perspectives from stakeholders such as staff, board members, donors, and service recipients in a confidential manner. This anonymous survey provides the search committee and the CapDev search team with key insights to more accurately define the competencies and priorities of the role.

Take the guesswork out of the interview and hiring process with CapDev’s IDEAL Hiring Toolkit. This package includes sample itineraries, sample interview questions, helpful hints for mitigating bias, and additional information on hiring best practices.

Our search team is committed to your success and is available for on-call strategic support at an hourly rate.

Set up your new hire for success. Upon the selection of the candidate, CapDev can also be available to assist in getting the new hire acclimated to the role. This service varies depending on the new hire’s level of expertise and familiarity with the organization and the community. Onboarding assistance can be customized to fit the institution’s needs, and can include the following:

• New hire announcement planning assistance and document creation, such as a draft introductory letter to stakeholders
• Phone check-ins with new hires are provided within the first 30, 60, and 120-day milestones
• In-depth situational analysis on-boarding guidance for the first six to twelve months
• Personalized transition introductions to area nonprofit and philanthropic leaders (initiated by CapDev with the new executive director and board chair, for example)
• Communications planning such as the development of press releases and detailed announcement planning
