Patriots Point Gets Gift to Preserve War Stories

Posted on

CapDev has been working on building capacity and embarking on a campaign at Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum in Charleston SC, and in recent months an exciting gift has developed from the Yorktown Foundation’s relationship with SCE&G.

The $125,000 gift to the aircraft carrier, Yorktown Foundation, will help preserve veterans’ war stories and oral histories in an expanded video series, “War Stories.” Visitors will soon find video kiosks at sites where sailors and Marines can give video testimonials describing how and where they served.

Having worked to help build infrastructure for a new foundation, hire and train staff, recruit and train leadership, build and refine the case for support, and to identify, evaluate, cultivate and solicit major gifts from lead prospects, CapDev has been engaged for about a year and a half. ” They are now well on their way to modernizing their exhibits to make the Yorktown a leading attraction in the state,” said Senior Counsel, Kaky Grant.
