Wake Forest University Attracts Top Fundraisers

Wake Forest University, a leading private liberal arts institution, recently tasked Capital Development Services’ Executive Search Services team with the job of finding the best people to fill two crucial advancement roles within the university.

Wake Forest University was in search of an Assistant Vice President for Development, Wake Forest College to provide leadership, direction and coordination for all activities relating to development for the college. Capital Development Services identified Jay Davenport, who assumed the role of Assistant Vice President for Development, Wake Forest College in June 2010. Jay came to Wake Forest from Rice University where he was the Director of Development for Undergraduates and Continuing Studies responsible for supervising and mentoring directors of development while leading fundraising efforts for the Dean of Undergraduates and the Dean of Continuing Studies.

At Wake Forest, Jay’s primary role will be to serve as the main communication liaison with the Provost, Dean of the College, faculty and College Board of Visitors in order to fully understand and articulate the vision of Wake Forest. He is also responsible for identifying, cultivating and soliciting prospects for the undergraduate college and oversees all activities relating to development for the school.

The Wake Forest University Schools of Business also engaged Capital Development Services in the search for a Director of Development to work closely with alumni and other constituents to keep them engaged with the Schools of Business at Wake Forest.  On July 1, 2010, Michael Haggas began his role as the Director of Development for the Wake Forest Schools of Business. Michael brings 16 years of higher education experience, including 10 years as a Director of Development for Clarke College, Dubuque, Iowa, and most recently with the University of Missouri – College of Business.  Michael will be responsible for securing financial support for the schools of business to best address the needs of the students and institution.
